Tourism enabled the Sinchi Warmi organization to turn the tide and create a dignified future for their community. Tourism is also a cornerstone of Forest Guardians, as we believe that responsible travel can fuel conservation efforts while providing visibility and momentum for Indigenous communities to reclaim land rights, an essential condition for long-term conservation. When travelers come, a window of opportunity opens and something shifts. Forests and communities are no longer invisible, but seen. Communities earn income, increase self-reliance, and gain momentum for conservation.
